    March 4, 2026 · 2 min read
Gold seal indicating VAD Program credentialing

Newport Beach, CA (March 4, 2026) — Hoag has earned credentialing from DNV as a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Facility, affirming the hospital’s readiness to provide the full spectrum of VAD program services, including diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and patient and community education. The credential also recognizes Hoag’s commitment to rigorous quality standards and measurable outcomes for patients receiving advanced heart failure care.

“Achieving VAD credentialing reflects the strength of the multidisciplinary team at Hoag’s Jeffrey M. Carlton Heart & Vascular Institute and our commitment to providing advanced heart failure care close to home,” said Ryan Olsen, chief administrative officer at Hoag. “For patients who need mechanical circulatory support, this recognition affirms that Hoag has the expertise, technology and coordinated care needed to deliver these highly specialized therapies safely and effectively.”

The DNV VAD Facility Credentialing Program Survey Process is based on standards set forth by DNV and the requirements of the Medicare Decision Memo for Ventricular Assist devices for Bridge-to-Transplant and Destination Therapy (CAG-00432R).

DNV is a global independent certification, assurance and risk management provider, operating in more than 100 countries. Through its broad experience and deep expertise, DNV advances safety and sustainable performance, sets industry benchmarks, drives innovative solutions.

“Achieving VAD Program credentialing demonstrates a commitment to excellence,” said Kelly Proctor, President of DNV Healthcare USA Inc. “And, it helps demonstrate to your community that you are performing at the highest level.”
